NEWS :HSBH-HVO process for SAF production : More than a process .

HSBH-HVO offers unparalleled performance with 87% energy balance efficiency.

The HSBH suspended bed catalyst offers a broader range of feedstock acceptance and a more stable process. It enables energy savings thanks to mid-conditions operations of catalyst reactors.
The technology has a proven track record of performance and operational stability over extended periods of operation.

Our partner, HAIXIN, provides a comprehensive suite of services and equipment to ensure the successful implementation of SAF projects, including engineering, design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance.

From FAME to HVO

Fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) biodiesel has served the industry well for many years as an additive to petroleum-based diesel. However, it has significant limitations with respect to blending ratio, and it cannot be used for jet fuel.
A more viable solution has emerged in the form of renewable diesel or sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), produced through hydroprocessing of fossil-free feedstock or so-called hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) processing.
These fuels, Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosen (SPK), are suitable for the preparation of premium fuel with a high cetane number and excellent low temperature properties.

The transition from a basic HVO to an Haixin Suspended Bed Hydrogenation (HSBH) process offers several advantages.

  • The enhanced mixing between the catalyst and reactants facilitates improved contact and mass transfer.
  • The catalyst particles' constant motion contributes to uniform temperature distribution within the reactor.
  • Continuous operation is enabled, allowing for catalyst regeneration or replacement without shutting down the reactor.
  • Additionally, the ability to adjust the catalyst load and reaction conditions dynamically is a significant benefit.

Feedstock acceptance is widened thanks to «adjustable catalyst loading» capability: UCO, Animal Fat, Vegetal Oil (Soy,rapeseed…), Advanced crops (Pongomia, Camelina, brassica carinata…), Algae and Halophytes
